Boxing Class - Technique
We are the only Boxing Gym in North West Austin & Cedar Park that offers Boxing Technique classes with a full size boxing ring and sparring night. So if that's what you're looking for, than look no further.
Whether your goal is to simply get in shape by learning how to box, want to do some friendly sparring, or you want to compete at the highest levels we can help you achieve your goal. Our Coaches are USA Boxing Certified and have both competed, and coached boxers into competition.
In addition, we are the only Boxing Gym in North West Austin & Cedar Park that offers a curriculum and Levels you can progress through at your own pace. In another words we don't just throw you in there and expect you to figure it out, no, we take you through bag work, speed bag work, double end and upper cut bag work, as well as teach you how to properly hold mitts for your teammates and, if you'd like, eventually get into the ring to so some fun and safe sparring with your teammates.
We also offer Boxing conditioning classes for our Boxing Technique students so that on top of learning technique you can look and feel as physically fit as a Boxer.

Muay Thai / Kickboxing Classes
Muay Thai, "The Art of Eight Limbs", is the most vicious form of striking in the world. Where other forms of striking may limit you to kicks, or punches, in our Muay Thai class you'll learn to use your whole body as a weapon: Punching, Kicking, Elbows, Knees, and Clinch work.
It's also one of the hardest workouts you can do because it uses your whole body. You're going to burn at least 1000 calories per class and leave sweating and smiling every time.
Our Muay Thai program has created an Amateur Champion Muay Thai athlete and we have others working their way up as well.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Classes
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu curriculumn is the only program to create a World Champion from beginning in Austin, TX.
In addition, we are the only Jiu Jitsu program that actually has a curriculum we follow for your success. Other gyms teach what they feel like for the day, but our system has produced Champion Jiu Jitsu players at all levels.
As a beginner, when you sign up, we will give you a curriculum of all the many techniques and concepts you will learn so you can take it home with you and have a clear path to success. You're going to learn how to defend yourself from day 1, and start feeling more confident right away.
If you're brand new to Jiu Jitsu, our fundamentals program will be the place you start.
If you're more advanced and have experience than you're welcome to jump into our Level 2 classes and receive top notch high level instruction to continue your Jiu Jitsu journey.
If competition is what you're looking for, no other individual school in Austin has a higher level competitive team. Our members regularly compete and/or win in local tournaments in Texas, as well as internationally in Rome, Paris and stateside in Seattle, Boca Raton, and the World Championships and Pan Am championships in California. Cardio Boxing Classes
Cardio Boxing at Johns Gym is a non-contact group exercise class that focuses on keeping your heart rate up by punching. Unlike other Cardio Boxing classes you won’t be punching the air as we have over 30 Long bags for you to punch. Having these bags for you to punch not only increases the amount of calories you’ll burn during the same 1hr class, but it also helps relieve frustration and really lets you get some aggression out.
Based off the techniques of professional boxers, you can expect to burn from 800-1000 calories per workout while learning proper technique as to avoid unnecessary injuries. Cardio Boxing is a great alternative to running on a treadmill or other stale aerobic exercise routines.
Cardio Boxing classes are designed for all skill levels, and you go at your own pace. Having said that, our instructors will carefully push you so that you experience the most out of each class. If you’re looking for a fun way to shed those extra pounds, relieve some aggression from a long day of work, or get away from the bore of cardio machines, this is for you!

Our unconventional Strength Training is designed to help shape your body to a leaner, stronger, healthier self. A great compliment to our breadth of Cardio and Martial Arts classes at John's Gym, Strength Training reaches further and helps bring out and lean out your muscles.
Our Strength Training program won't turn you into someone that has muscles to show but no cardio; rather, with the use of TRX Suspension trainers, Clubs, Kettlebells, Medicine Balls, Battle Ropes, Sand Bags, Clubs, and Free Weights our program will develop long lean muscles, power endurance, and having you looking and feeling like a fit all around athlete.

Kids Martial Arts
John's Gym Kids Martial Arts program will not only teach them how to defend themselves, but also create a more confident, respectful, and happy child, while giving them the tools they need to succeed in life.
We offer Kids Jiu Jitsu classes and Kids Boxing classes.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Mixed Martial Arts / Vale Tudo is a full contact fighting sport that involves a combination of many martial art techniques. The rules allow you to use both ground and standing techniques while fighting.
MMA was started from a Brazilian competition known as Vale Tudo, and was brought over by the Gracie family with the advent of UFC. A heavily regulated sport it has exploded with popularity thanks in large part to the UFC.
