Jasmine Choksi takes 3rd Place in the Masters World Jiu Jitsu Championship

I had the privilege of being a part of an amazing experience I will never forget and always hold dear to my heart.

Last weekend Jasmine won 3rd place in the Masters World Championships - Master 2 Feather weight, Blue Belt Division. It was the biggest Masters World Championship ever. Some of the brackets looked like Worlds Brackets with the level of talent there.

To compete at the pinnacle of your sport is something most athletes dream of doing. Not because they're not physically able, but it's the mental that people have the toughest time with. The nerves.

Jasmine and I have been to many tournaments together and despite not often getting the best outcome we could get, she would sign up for the next IBJJF tournament and want to continue testing herself.

It paid dividends last weekend as her poise could be felt, despite the natural nerves everyone feels. Her goal was to take it one match at a time and this new approach helped. It allowed her to really focus on winning what was in front of her and not worrying about the whole bracket.

She came out in a dominant performance in her first match quickly taking her opponents back. Here's the video:

It was a great win for John's Gym and the John's Gym Jiu Jitsu Association.

She looks forward to competing and testing herself again, and is already looking forward to next years World Championships.
