A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Second Degree Black Belt under Bruno Bastos; he started Jiu Jitsu under 6X World Champion Robert Drysdale and went all the way to Purple Belt under his tutelage.
Ernesto is a 3rd degree Jiu Jitsu Black belt, Judo Black belt and Certified USA Boxing Coach, among many other qualifications. A native south Texan, Ernesto moved to Austin to establish a career in architecture after serving his country as a Civil Engineer in the United States Army, where he competed on the Judo and Boxing Team.
Darrin Lillian is a 3rd degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Professor Travis Tooke. He started training mixed martial arts in December 1996 after watching a VHS of UFC 2. He focused on combining grappling and striking for nearly a decade.
Federico is Brazilian jiujitsu black belt. He teaches our evening NoGi Jiu jitsu classes
James started Jiu Jitsu in 2007 and became a consistent competitor in 2011. James is a 1st degree black belt
Branden started training in late 2009. As a John's Gym student he competed in Muay Thai and Amateur MMA Events. After success in the amateur scene in 2021 he turned Pro and had his first bout
Gabriel began training Tae Kwon Do in 1993 at the age of 5 he which he holds a 2nd degree black belt. He began Jiu Jitsu training in 2010 and holds a brown belt. He started teaching Jiu Jitsu in 2013.
Kylie is the General Manager at John's Gym. She genuinely enjoys helping people feel comfortable and is considered the "jack of all trades" at John's Gym.
Started training martial arts at the age of 15. Nick stumbled upon the Gi for the first time training Judo with the state team in Medellin and Jiu Jitsu on and off for 6 years initially at a Gracie Barra academy, than a Checkmat. Nick also spent 2 years training with the Colombian the State Boxing League, and 10 years KungFu, 7 as a teacher in a private academy.
Jordan Brodey is a Muay Thai competitor for John’s Gym. In April 2020, he won the Class C 160lb tournament in Oklahoma.
Megan started training at John’s Gym in 2017.
