About me
Introduction
Gabriel began training Tae Kwon Do in 1993 at the age of 5 in which he holds a 2nd degree black belt. He began Jiu Jitsu training in 2010 and holds a black belt. He started teaching Jiu Jitsu in 2013.
Gabriel’s passion for martial arts and self-defense has been a lifelong pursuit, with the majority of his time dedicated to training in various disciplines. When off the mats, he enjoys playing music, having played in various working bands for over a decade. His journey into Jiu Jitsu was sparked by its practicality in mixed martial arts, and because it’s one of the only martial arts that answers the question: “What do you do if someone bigger and stronger takes you down and you can’t get back to your feet?” Jiu Jitsu offers practioners of all sizes the ability to defend oneself on the ground and from your back. You’re able to launch offensive techniques to attack from an otherwise vunerable position. What keeps Gabriel devoted to Jiu Jitsu is its enjoyable nature as both a workout and a mental challenge. It offers a dynamic journey of continuous improvement and endless discovery, making every training session an enriching experience. He enjoys sharing the knowledge he’s gained with others, and continually learning himself. You’ll often find him staying late, continuing to train after other’s have gone home, and he is always available to help students and teammates.
